Khanqah of Shah Hamadan is the first mosque that was built in Srinagar. It was built by Mir Sayed Ali Hamadni in 1395. This fascination historic monument is situated on the banks of the River Jhelum. The main motto of Shah-i-Hamdan is to promote and spread Islam in Kashmir. The main attraction of this magnificent mosque is a wooden structure with beautifully carved eaves and hanging bells. To glamorize it more, the interiors are richly carved and painted.
